Life is funny. There is no doubt about that. It was just this morning that I was wondering to myself, "Self, you haven't paid a water bill since you moved into your new apartment! Maybe your paperwork got lost in the mail and you are getting your water free!!!"
No kidding, another teacher who lives in my apartment building just walked up to me and said, "DH-you owe me money for eight month's worth of water bills." That's about $250 for those of you out there who don't know, and that my friends, puts a damper on the afternoon.*
In other news, Kentucky Ale finally has their new website up, after working on it for the last 10 years. Check out what they are doing here.
Anyone who has been watching Japanese TV has certainly seen Ichiro promoting Kirin's New Ichiban Shibori due to come out next month. The world waits.
This weekend's plan has changed slightly, and I might be heading to Ise to drink the holy Sinto beer...I'll keep you posted.
I'm going home early to enjoy a brew from Kyoto...I'll be back tonight.
*but not too much--Like I learned long ag0---money comes and money goes. I will be happy either way!**
**As long as I have a beer.***

Shinto beer is awesome. I live in the same area that brewpub, Biyagura.
Dan, I've had the Sinto beer before, but I'm hoping I can get some of their other brews while I am there. Can you help a fellow Dan out?
I like most of their normal offerings: pale ale, brown ale, stout and perhaps a couple others. My favorite is the brown.
On the middle Wednesdays of each month (that is, tomorrow) they have a one hour, 1,000 yen nomihouday special. We go almost every time, despite work the next morning. On these days they have several other unique offerings. Some good, some that taste like Windex.
Drop me a line on e-mail (think it's in my blogger profile) if you have any questions or whatever.
I've had Sinto Beer. It is a good lager but other things can make the cock crow. I wouldn't go as far as calling it 'holy'. Holy Shinto!
I'm excited about the Triple Hop Pale Ale, the IPA and the Scotch Ale...had those before?
What about the Imperial Smoke Porter, The Rye Ale or The English Dark Ale?
We are for sure going to hit Biyagura on Saturday sometime. Wish we could make it on a Wednesday, but that just won't do!!!
I don't think I've tried the Triple Hop or the Scotch Ale, but I've had an IPA there a couple times. I'm a big IPA fan so I of course enjoyed it.
I'm not a fan of the Imperial Smoke Porter ... it's dark and mysterious. Worth a try in sampler size and there may be people out there who love it.
As for the other two you mentioned, I may well have tried them before, but details from some of those Wednesday nomihoudais are sketchy.
Biyagura is a nice place, quality beer and decent bar food. I like the miso pizza and the karaage salad.
