SanktGallen Imperial Chocolate Stout

Drinkability: It's no session beer, that's for sure, but it is remarkably pleasant to sip on a lazy Sunday evening while watching "Persepolis" and eating a dessert of blackcurrant jam and Marscapone cheese.

Thats
what someone on a beer forum had to say about SanktGallen's Imperial Chocolate Stout. I can guarantee that they are not a Good Beer Country Boy. Coming in at 8.5% (now we're talking!) the SanktGallen Imperial Chocolate Stout is tasty. It pours thick like 10w-30, and has great taste. Has great burnt taste and a decent hoppiness. The label says East Kent Goldings, Willamette, Cascade and Nugget hops were used. SanktGallen must use just a bit of each, and they did get it balanced pretty well.
Overall it's a good brew. It's expensive, but good. It's got tons more flavor than any "dark" beer produced by the "Big 4" that I have had, but don't know if it is worthy of its $6 price tag.
I'd reccomend giving it a try, and just for the record--I have no idea what Marscapone cheese is.

I drank the 2008 version at the Yokohama Beer Fest last year. It was good but the Sweet Vanilla was killin all them jive turkeys. I've got this, an orange stout, and a sweet vanilla here in my apartment. I have to drink them with Miyuki so now I play the waiting game.
