Heian Beer

We had a good weekend in Tahara. First, I must say that Nate has made some good beer. Saturday we began the day with a few of the porters that he made, and they were excellent. Not the best beer I've ever had, but fine nonetheless. After that, we made our way to a local park where we enjoyed some sake and lunch. Finished the day with yakiniku and karaoke. Great Weekend.

I got back to Toyohashi this afternoon and enjoyed some jibeer that Michi found in Kyoto. We drank some of this Heian Kinshimasamune Beer (Alt). It has a nice bottle and a classic label, but it's nothing special for sure. It tastes ok but is surprisingly forgettable with not much to mention. Better than the macros, but not by much.

It's made by a old sake brewery in Kyoto, and maybe would be better on tap. Any first hand opinions?

Now, it's back to Toei and work for the week. Fun Fun!

It's not much better on tap, actually. And their tasting room is very strange with a crazy old lady who gives you things you didn't order. their schwarz beer is pretty decent, but that was in the bottle at the brewery too.
