I'm Heading For Ishigaki

I think Nate and I will be writing all week. I've got a list of about ten posts that I want to get done before I leave. I am going to be leaving the big island for a few days, as the old lady wanted to take a trip somewhere warm. I told her that she could choose anywhere she wanted, and that this trip didn't have to be centered around Japanese craft beer.

She decided that we would head down to Ishigaki Island. I must be livin' right, because wouldn't you know it?--There is Ishigaki Ji-Beer on Ishigaki Island. Now, I've never had this beer before and I'm sure it's not going to be the best craft beer in Japan, but I am still excited becuase drinking jibeer on the beach is my kind of thing--AND MAYBE this will be one brewery that Chris Chuwy has never been to. However, I wouldn't be surprised if I hear stories about a loud, drunk, shaved headed gaijin who was doing keg stands and dancin' on war veterans graves and endangered coral reefs.

I'll take a ton of pictures for you, and you can tell me how jealous that you are. Comment below.

There's another Okinawan ber, Nihede beer.
The question is, do you like it hard or soft?
What is it to be? You can't have it both ways (unlesss you go soft to start with, then finish hard).

Chuwy, if I show up on the island and see you on the beach drinking Nihede Soft and Hard...I will know that you cannot be mortal.

I have no plans to be doing it hard on the beach - the sand gets everywhere! I amy well be drinking on another beach, later this morning/afternoon. Heading on down Kamakura way and Hayama beach for some chilling in the sun and swimming in the gorgeous clear ocean they have down there. Also will be drinking Hayama beer. Heard the Rainbow brewing was based in Hayama, but they brew out of Hansharo. Hmmm. That explains why I couldn't find a brewery over there.

Yeah, "Rainbow Brewing" just contract brews out of Hansharo. Our friend Kawano-san is the "brewer". This weekend we helped him make his Rainbow Hop Ale. If it tastes great, it was my skills that did it. If it is bad, it's Nate's fault. Nate will surely post more about this soon.
