The weather is great in Toei today. It has been a great week. Even though my team (UK Wildcats) did not make the big tournament, we are still optomistic for neat year. And now friends, let me tell you about the weekend Nate, Miyuki and I have planned. (Michi has to work)
Friday we are headed to Gotemba Kogen to meet Scott and drink the beer while we look at Mt. Fuji. Saturday we are heading to Hansharo Beer to help a buddy brew his Dusk Ale, Sunday we are going to try to stop by Baird and have a few pints before the trip home. Now that sounds like a weekend.
Over the spring vacation me and the ole lady are heading to Ishigaki Island in Okinawa for some fun in the sun, scuba diving, and jibeer drinking--thanks to Ishigaki Ji-Beer. Sounds nice huh?

Sounds great.
Say hi to Scott. You gotta try the all u can stuff yourself with food and beer offer. Great deal. plus there's the big outlet mall not far away for lots of hsopping bargains! In the area, around Fujisan you have the 5 breweries. Starting at Gotenba and going anti-clockwise round the mountain) Gotenba Kogen, Fujiyama beer (stay away from there), Fujisakura beer (good German style beer (weissen and rauch best) and great location in the forest), Bayern Meister (again real German beer made by a real German with a real cool beer name - Stefan Lager!) and in Numazu there's Baird and the great small by the harbour Taproom to sit back in and knock them down at the end of the day. You should still catch the lucky 7 Stout week so good luck with that. I drank them all on Mon and the coffee stout was good, plus most of the others.
In the summer, I sometimes cycle round Fujisan and take in the landscape and the great liquid refreshments. Enjoy! If you get the chance, I recommend visiting Stefan (Bayernmeister) and Miyashita san and co in Sylvan's (Fujisakura beer). Ask Scott about Stefan (they are freinds). Still, it's a great weekend you got planned. Enjoy!
Boys,
If I get off my arse I might just have a drink with you in Numazu on Saturday night. Any recommendations on where to stay around there? I am thinking of the capsule hotel.
Mark
The Scent hotel, right downtown, is the drunkards' favorite.
there are also two big internet cafes, either side of th station, both of which sport tiny capsuly places (one was a double sofa, the other a 2m x 1.5m tatami area) easily big enough to sleep in at a price cheaper than the capsule hotels, PLUS you get free soft ice cream!!!! What more can you ask for? I even got a free shower, last but one time I was Numazu way. The last time I was there, I got the entire Numazu police force on my arse - which wasn't very nice. Watch out for those last trains. That was my excuse why I stayed there 3 days, one time (went through 3 nonbei cards).
a certain old man alchie has 7 pint son his two nonbei cards, unsued... but less than 5 grand money inhis wallet tilpayday. I'm off to astronaut training tmrw morning, wiht JAXA. Hope they'll take me as I'm drunk as a bloody skunk that is really, really drunk.
Mark, I'm not sure where we will be on Sat night exactly. We are going to Hansharo Beer during the day on sat, so when I know more I'll post. Leave a comment and let me know where you will be.
