We met up with Scott, brewer at Gotemba Kogen, on friday and he is friends with Chris.
One of Yokohama Brewing's new brewers, Gojo-san, was working with us at Hansharo Beer on Saturday. DH asked him if many gaijin come to drink. He said yes on the weekend. We asked if any of them had an almost shaved head. He said "bouzu? Hi, Chris-san."
Later that evening we were eating supper in the Hansharo restaurant and the owner's son, Hide, said a group of gaijin had been there before. He remembered one named Chris with a shaved head.
What is this? Everywhere we go, everyone we meet, Chris Chuwy has been there and met that. I would say that he is not human. I would say that he is more myth than man except that I remember a drunk, forceful person with a shaved head attempt to carry me out of the Grande Biere Festival. Now, thinking back, did that even happen?
We, at Good Beer Country Boys, need more hard evidence ascertain whether Chuwy is mortal, or something more. We dared not ask Brian Baird whether or not the force that is Chuwy had made its way to Numazu Taproom for fear of the answer.

Some idiot called Chuwy tried to do the 10 glass beer triangle. He figured the magic number of 4-3-2-1 was too much to resist. He'd seen someone do it wiht taster galsses, but all empty. He used half pints and full ones. He is apparently the only person to smash beer glasses onto the Fishmarket Taproom floor. And that was before he'd drank a single beer. That wasn't the year he emptied the whole taproom whilst wearing his squirrel jacket. Or the time he spnet 3 days and had over 30 pints there cos he kept missing his last train. Or the time when he had at least 6 of Numazu's finest(?) interrogating him in a convenience store. Who is this Chuwy? That's a question best left unanswered.
Brian doesn't really know me at all but his wife does. Hang on, that sounds dodgy.
Also the staff there may know a certain alchoholic who annoys people by his very prescence. Hope you boys enjoyed it down there. I kinda thought to pop down to the area myself as it was a 3 day weekend and the sun was (partly) shining. Alas, couldn't find my tent until it was too late. It's great cycling, round Fuji and across the Izu peninsular. Loads of breweries, too!
