Greetings! You have found Good Beer and Country Boys, a blog created about the first by the latter. Some native Kentuckians chronicle their search for great beer in The Bluegrass and Beyond!
The light nikkko beer? They've done a few variations on their beer. I've drank 4 at least. this guy is off his t*ts. Needs to check what he's on about before he publishes or gets published. Nikko beer yes is a normal malty lager/ pilsner but the dark and almost pale ale variations were not the same brew. Popeyes 70 beers on tap mostly Japanese? Maybe. Mostly mickey mouse disney style choices to draw in customers, perhaps. Was Aoki san talking about Nikko Beer? I can't tell. Perhaps I'm drunk but this seems to me like a badly written article. I liked Nikko beer. It doesnt push itself as the worlds best beer and it certainly is not a tourist location, but it is an ok craft beer and thats enough for me. Also, quoting volume of beer consumed, he should instead quote volume of beer consumed per capita. Then perhaps Germany or the Czech Rep would be top, not bloody China. His stats are very misleading. Again badly written article. Coedo's whole range is pure shite. sorry, but it is. Marketed as the worlds gift to beer, its just overpriced crap. The article gets better towards the end but I still dont like it.
So there. Hurumph. Butb hen what I think really doesnt matter... so nice article! I've been drinking - can you tell?
I found Baird's Rising Sun Pale Ale in my local store here in Portland and drank it for the first time yesterday. My first thought was sh*t, this stuff is expensive ($5 for a 12oz. bottle) -- I suppose that's not Bryan's fault though...
My second thought was that this is a very "clever" beer. By "clever", I mean it seems like a ji-beer that is almost designed to please the Japanese palate (which is used to all those boring lagers) -- light on aroma and a citrusy flavor, bitterness that trails off pretty quickly and a decent level of carbonation.
I could probably drink it every day, but the cost would put me in the poor house. Damn.

Hey guys,
