The Greatest Golden Week Ever

So, I just returned from the Golden Week trip to Gotemba and Numazu with my girlfriend, my buddy Nick and his girl Michelle. We had a great time, and I'll be posting pics and stories all week about our adventures.

To hit a few highlights:

• Did the Gotemba Kogen All you can eat and drink with brewer Scott Brimmer two nights in a row.
• Hit three onsens in three days.
• Met up with Chuwy and the biker boys at The Fishmarket Taproom in Numazu
• Drank beers with brewers Bryan Baird and Chris Poel at The Taproom---got some great advice from them about beer/brewing/the blog
• Told stories at the Taproom--had so much fun I thought I was at the local bar with the boys back in KY
• Got ate up by mosquitoes camping out for three nights.
• Shot some bottle rockets on the beach with some Japanese kids.
• Had great views of Fuji for three days.
• Had fun.

I'll try to put up some pics tonight asap, but rest assured that the jibeer movement is gearing up in Japan--and brewers are doing some great things. We are going to try and do some new things with the blog soon--could be some real changes that can help keep lovers of Japanese craft beer informed and connected. Don't worry--we will never cover the blog with cheezy google ads in a pathetic attempt to make an easy dollar. We are committed to finding, drinking, and writing about the best craft beer that Japan has to offer.

And to being Country. To celebrate that, here is a video of the Derby from last Saturday. For those of you that aren't big fans of horse races...this is an amazing run coming from the inside. The horse that wins is so much of an underdog that the guy calling the race doesn't even realize that the horse has come from the inside--and when he does--he doesn't know its name!! Enjoy!
