Men's Bras?????

Story in the Japan Times today about men's bras being a big hit in Japan. Are you kidding me? And the story says the reason is that men like the idea of wearing them? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

As if this place needed more Hello Kitty wearing, pink phone carrying, chu-hi drinkers---now they are wearing bras too?

This article talks about how young men in Japan are becoming more and more like women.
The article states the following as proof:

• They are not as competitively minded about their jobs as men in older generations.

• They are fashion conscious and eat sparingly so they can stay thin and fit into skintight clothes.

• They are chummy with their moms and often go shopping together.

• They are not interested in dating girls, having relationships, or even having sex (choosing from a plethora of "self-help" toys instead).

• They are very tight with their money and often carry several retailers' "point cards" around, declaring that those who don't pinch pennies are stupid.

With all of this girly news in the media, Japanese men should thank Keisuke Goto--the recently crowned "Best Bartender in the World"--according to TGI Friday's.

Uh oh.I bought the Hello Kitty® | Hard Rock Cafe T-Shirt (dark blue - but I would have obtained the pink T-Shirt if it had been available in adult sizes) at the Hard Rock Cafe in Roppongi.
While I was looking at the rack there, I also wound up buying the Gene Simmons [KISS] in a kimono lapel pin as well (¥315).
I am confident in my own sensuality. I don't need media outlets to try and inform me that what I enjoy or appreciate is wrong.
Hello Kitty® is a cute (kawaii) character, much more desirable than Mickey Mouse®, or Daffy Duck®.
I love cuteness. This is one of the reasons I feel more at ease in Japan than here in Chicago.
I'll take on any Japanese girl that this original article descries is being discarded due to more feminine attributes of other Japanese males.
But fairness mandates I notify you that I do have retailers' point cards in my possession. If I didn't save money somewhere, I would not be able to visit Japan once (or more) a year.

Japanese men should 'thank' Keisuke Goto?
Why, because playing with cocktails, whilst being covered in 'flair' is manly?
If he was juggling 60L craft beer barrels, then I'd say yes.
Or if he had, say, a Viking helmet on and was breathing fire, whilst ripping off the bodices of voluptuous valyrie maidens and screaming out random baseball and soccer stats and pimping up his ride at the same time. Now THAT'S what Japanese men need, a REAL MAN!!!!
Hang on, that didn't sound right.

Shame about the Minoh postponement. At least this means I can hit the Oktoberfest!
Prost!
I kinda thought this might happen.
Checked the website myself today.

I've always liked women's underwear, but not to . . . er, wear.

I also have man boobs, but never considered wearing a bra for them.

Time to drink a manly beer, maybe an IPA or BakaYaro or Smoked Porter.

Chris, I hear the Numazu police are looking into reinvestigating the dissapearing panties case again!
^-^
There was an article and a utube video about this Japanese company that made bras for men out a few months back. Interesting stuff. Not sexually. At least not for me. It's not for me to say what other people should feel, as long as no one is hurt (and the panties are returned at the end of the day).
If men want to wear bras, it takes guts, so I say BRAvo!

A pre-October Oktoberfest will be underway for a week or so in Hibiya Park starting tomorrow (Hey Country Boys, why haven't you blogged about this?!?! http://www.nihon-oktoberfest.com/ ) and other locations as listed on the website (Yokohama, Fukuoka, Sendai, etc.) with differing dates.

Oh, yes. A visit shall be in order.
