Craft Beer in Cans
Craft beer in cans is already a common thing here in Japan, but check out this article about the practice coming to the US....

Greetings! You have found Good Beer and Country Boys, a blog created about the first by the latter. Two native Kentuckians chronicle their search for great beer in The Land of the Rising Sun!

Caldera only puts their beer in cans, as far as I know (plus kegs , of course, if they send them out which I assume they do). IPA and pale ale. good stuff, too.
It's the growing wave in the States now, to put your beer in cans. Quite a few Japanese craft breweries were ahead of the curve on this one! I don't mind cans, but the temptation is to drink directly out of the can, which spoils a lot of the flavor and aroma. The only craft beer in a can that I drink directly out of the can -- because it tastes better -- is Yona Yona. To me, it loses something when it's poured in a glass. Go figure.
Chris, im coming to numazu. I gotta little something for you but i wont get there till about 10:30 or 11. if u rnt there ill elave it for you. nothing amazing, jsut a tiny something to say thankyou.
aah. now the weather looks bad for tmrw. may not make it down to numazu this weekend. perhasp in 2 weeks time...
Okay -- no matter when you come down, I'll look forward to whatever it is you bring me. Well, almost whatever. Brewing today (Saturday 12th) with the WanCup winner, so we'll be at Taproom after 5:00, if you're still there. Which I'm sure you will be, if you make it down.
Hey boys, any of you be around Tokyo on the 22nd??????
Of course. An I be drinkin!!
If u fancy a pint, I reccomend meeting up at the Aldgate. They'll have a good IPA festival on. That's where I'll be.
Chuwy, sounds great! I've got some crap I have to do at the embassy, and should be out and about with the old lady after that! I'll let you know more and get some more details and locations when it's closer to time! An IPA festival sounds great!
DH -- Make sure the embassy is open. They generally close on US and Japanese national holidays, and the 22nd is a J-holiday.
And Chewy, if you come down next weekend, I'll be here for sure. The Big Boss is heading to the States for a week, so I pretty much have to be in Numazu all weekend in case there's some trouble at the brewery. Which there won't be, because if there is, my weekend will be ruined.
Chris--I got an apt! Also....we may be stopping by Numazu on Wednesday on the way back through...have to see what time it be!
I'll be slaving on Wednesday, but we'll be open from noon, so it's a good time to stop by. I'll do my best to make the underlings finish up for me and haul ass to Taproom to have a pint or two with you.
DH, guess it was too late for you to make a stop by Taproom -- no problem. We'll catch you next time you blow through.
Chris! We couldn't make it my friend!!!! So Sorry! I hope you enjoyed your Silver Week and didnt work too hard. I did make it to the Harajuku Taproom for the first time. NICE place. Good Beers as well. THe Harajuku #2 was spot on, as was everything else we had. Can't wait until I can get back to Numazu though....
Probably gonna make the November date....maybe coming up there on the three day weekend in October as well.....
