Nate's Memorial Friday News.....
OH BOY....I can already smell the grill heating up. I've got an inaka grill out planned with some of the fellas who live out here in the wild near me. Last weekend we saw one itachi and two tanukis...this weekend I'm hoping for a bear! I'll settle for some monkeys....
The Great Japan Beer Festival is in Yokohama this weekend. Might want to pack a flask if you go. I hear the lines can get looooooonnnnnnnggggg.
I'm heading to Tokyo on the 22nd for some business at the Embassy. Hopefully I'll be out of the town in the early afternoon trying to scare up a few good brews. Hope to see some of the Tokyo boys as well. I've been informed by Chuwy that the Aldgate is having an IPA festival... If I was a bettin' man, I'd say you will be able to find me there....
Big weekend in Kentucky sports as my University of Kentucky Wildcats take on those pansy scum suckers from the cess pool of Louisville. Hope we destroy them.

I just saw an ad for Bud Golden Wheat. It might be the best wheat beer around (doubtful), but it's interesting that craft breweries, and a wider selection of imports, have forced domestics to shake things up a bit. I would be interested in seeing a time-line of Bud's history and the gaps between releases of new beers. Of course, it could be inbev's influence as well.
See you in the Aldgate, dude. Yokohama beer fest was nothing great with no real suprise new beers - same old same old.
Not as busy as last year. Brewmaster Kabos and honey, Tazawako Kolsh, Yaho National Trust porter on tap, Yaho barley wine (lovely), 15th anniversary wood aged DIPA from Andy, Atsugi simcoe blody simcoe possibly the best of show.
North Island IPA, the Noboribetsu tomato ale and a new tiny company's strange pale ale the worst. Had to toss them. Was tossed out myself by security at closing. That was my last memory, until waking up sprawled on the futon at 3am. No idea where I went after the beer fest or how I got home. My right knee, right hip and right elbow are a bit banged up. Bike seems ok. Have a hazy memory of getting lost on the train home...
Looking forward to Tuesday, slamming down the IPAs.
