Tis the Season!

It's that good!

Well, we got snow in this part of Aichi last night which means one thing: it is cold. Well, I'm sure it means more than that, but for sure being cold is obvious. My apartment feels like the inside of a deep freeze and I'm really feeling the need for some high ABV Imperial Stouts. Drat. Don't have any. Do you think if I mix some Ichiban Shibori and coffee I can have something worth drinking??

I am heading into Toyohashi tomorrow night where I'll watch Andrew Scott give a kickin' concert. Check him out on itunes if you haven't already. While there hopefully I'll be able to scare up something good to drink!

While looking through some old pics I found a few of me and some weird Japanese craft brews that didn't get their own post. I don't remember anything about how these beers tasted, which probably means that they were neither stellar nor horrible. For your viewing pleasure:

I'll also be headed home in less than a week, so you will see a drop off in the posting. While there I will be enjoying all that a Kentucky Christmas has to offer, and trying to relax in the process. I will be returning to Japan with a suitcase full of brews you can't get here....any suggestions? I feel a meetup in Numazu coming in spring!

Enjoy your Thursdays folks.

Harvest Moon does a lot of fruit ales. Mickey Mouse beers made in disneyland! Their yuzu ale was quite nice.
Loco coconuts porter was very good and quite famous. A certain person may have helped out on that one. Not Chris, but another person whom I don't think you've met but has commented on a few posts.
For the sake of anonymity, let's call him Leven Stacy.

I am off to Oz tomorrow. Lets have a big drink up when you get back. Seasonals, anything big and heavy from Bluegrass, etc. Load it up. You and Nate have done me well so far. I am up for a tasting in Numazu sometime. Hey, can you do Homebrew and Hanami this year? It would be great to have your beers on tap. Whenever we meet up, I have no idea what I will have, but I always have a fridge full of beer, so I am sure you won't be disappointed.

DH -- Anything you pick up will be appreciated. When you come down to Numazu, I'll dig down into my cellar and pull out some dusty bottles -- maybe it would be a good chance to bring out the 5-6 years of Anchor Holiday beers to have a parallel tasting. If you run into some Michigan beers, like Bells or Founders or New Holland, pick up one for me just for old times sake.

And of the beers you have in your pics, I had the grapefruit at Harvest Moon's bar in Maihama -- it wasn't bad from what I remember, if you're into grapefruity beers.

Chris, I'm not that into fruity beers, but it was ok.

I'll pick up some Bell's and some other goodies. For sure I'll bring back some Expedition Stout and Two Hearted.

Hope to find some other goodies as well!

A meetup is for sure in order TimE!
