What a weekend again!!!

I'll post some pictures and a full review soon, but this past weekend was great. Went to The Fishmarket Taproom both Friday and Saturday night, Gotemba Kogen Brewery to see brewer Scott Brimmer, Fujiyama Beer to drink some "interesting" beers, Fujizakura Brewery at Sylvan's to find it closed, and Bayern Meister with brewer Stefan for his birthday party with a bunch of Germans. Talk about a fun filled weekend.

And someone took a Number 2 in Chris Poel's upstairs potty that I'm pretty sure was illegal to dump without a permit. His name starts with a 'C' and ends with a 'huwy'.

In all seriousness, a big thanks to all of the great people in the 'Zoo: Chris Poel, Bryan Baird, Robert Yellin (Rob the Potter), Cajun Chris the Chef, Shinya, and many others. Thanks to Scott Brimmer of Gotemba Kogen, and Stefan of Bayern Meister. And of course, thanks to Chuwy, and my good buddy Jordan who drove Chuwy and I to all of the breweries around Fuji.

It can never be said enough how welcoming the craft beer makers and craft beer drinkers can be. I will take the memories of my jibeer in Japan buddies with me everywhere I go!

I still haven't opened the door to the upstairs toilet -- I think I'll just preserve it as is as a memory of a great weekend.

Besides drinking with you guys on Friday and Saturday nights, I'd forgotten that Sunday was my nephew's birthday and he rolled in from Fujinomiya just a bit before I rolled in from the brewery. So another night of hilarity ensued, and for the third morning in a row, I woke up somewhat cloudy.

It was an excellent weekend, and I'd love to have a chance to do it again -- just give me a few weeks off to recover, though.

Hey, I seem to remember the name beginning with 'D' and ending with 'H'!
Just like your terrible deed that Sunday morning, that showed a lot of cheeck!
It takes a lot to make my eyes water but man, that was something else! The sounds that were coming from that upstairs toilet really were something else. Just thank goodness Chris' house is no smoking.
Chris, thanks sooo much and it was great to finally 'meet you', at last!
I think I must have had well over two pints that Saturday evening. Phew! Possibly three and a half.
Though I have a feeling it was a tad more than that.
Beers were good. Suruga in fine form, Angry boy so fresh. MCS very nice indeed.
To top it off, we were blessed with fantastic 360 degree views of glorious Mt.Fuji!
Couldn't have asked for better weather.

Chuwy, glad I wasn't leaving when you came in on Saturday -- like every other time recently. It was nice knocking back a few pints with all the guys.

But, who tripped over my mailbox and bent it? That's (I think) the last remaining mystery from the weekend.

What?
Is the mailbox bent?
Oh no!
That was me!
I went back to the house to get my camera and stepped on the porch steps and then the next thing I knew, I was admiring the clouds.
I hit the mail box perhaps with my elbow as I fell but I'm sorry, I didn't know I had bent it.
Sorry.
I would have told you if I knew I had damaged anything.
I thought it was just my arm and side and backside (not to mention pride, or what was left of it) that was damaged!
Sorry, Chris.

Yes, I can attest that I heard a great fall and saw chuwy on the ground with the mailbox upset from it's home. Quite funny. Sorry Chris! At least he didn't hit it with a baseball bat!

I didn't think I hit the box on the way down. I just slipped on the greasy front steps. My fault. Thought I knocked/nudged it as I fell but didn't notice any damage. honest. sorry, Chris. I kinda slid it back in position and gingerly got up. Is it fixable?

I wish Blogger had smilies -- my previous comment definitely could have used a few.

I noticed something was awry when I got home and the mailbox was facing the wrong way. When I turned it around, I notice the handle was bent a little -- no real damage at all. I just knew that it was one of you guys, most likely Chuwy, so I was just giving you that final bit of shit [right, DH -- a bit of shit?].

I don't get any mail anyway -- really, most of the mail that comes my way gets delivered to the brewery -- so I don't even know why I have a mailbox.

And Chuwy, don't sue me for those freakin' slippery steps . . . please?

Chris! Great idea! I'll get my uoiji board and get in touch with Jonnie Cochran. Man, I'm sorry, I didn't notice any damage to the mail box.
It was a combo of shock and embarrassment that I didn't feel that much pain. Still hungover - of course. I'll be sure to have a look at it and say sorry, next time I'm in tha zoo.

You missed a good opportunity to get a new ipod though. Shoulda said it was fine before we damaged the screen the way we did.
(-_^)/ Smilie, old school!

Guys, I am happy to report that I successfully negotiated a trip to the upstairs bathroom. Wallpaper was still on the walls, the green haze has largely dissipated, and the neighbor's house just outside the window hasn't discolored.

I did have to have the haz-mat team come in and remove the toilet, but that was much better than I expected.

As for the iPod, it works and that's all I need.
