Friends!!! Homebrew included!! All in good fun I assure you! Homebrew we had a good laugh and conversation in Numazu about the mysterious homebrew blogger, I assure you nothing more than a little smack talking--good natured at that!!!! For sure I look forward to the time when we can share some pints together!

AND, if anyone knows anything about getting involved with the Japanese authorities, it may just be this country boy--but that's another story for the round table as well!!

Hope all of you had great weekends, I just drank the big Sankt Gallen bottle with my girlfriend and her dad--not too bad, but it could have been the good food we were eating!

I agree with everything Chuwy said (other than him being an asshole -- he's really a nice guy, although maybe he doesn't want that as public knowledge). Nothing I heard was meant to demean anyone, and DH's comments were not meant to be offensive -- I don't think DH has an offensive bone in his body.

Beer will cure all -- so look forward to meeting up and sharing some pints. Everyone will go home happy, guaranteed.

I've been lucky enough to meet you all and there's definitely no asshole amongst the lot of you (unless you count that Chuwy guy - what an asshole!).
None of what DH wrote was meant as an offense. Of that I'm sure.
I may have influenced his words or way of thinking, as craftbrewJapan up in conversation in Numazu as the mysterious new blogger. No one knew your name and I may have let slip that I did but I wasn't saying what it was.It's not as if you are a secret spy and quite a few people know you. We all knew you were British, from the blog posts but for the sake of anonymity, we should leave it at that. As you may have realised after meeting me last night, I can be pretty good at confusing people (not leastly myself) and I think in backtracking out of that conversation about your identity (Chris knows you and started to talk about you and I 'hm hmmm!'d to let him know that perhaps you didn't want your identity to be public knowledge), the only option I had was to leave everyone confused. Didn't even confirm if this mystery blgoger was even male or female. So if there is any bad blood now because of a post, then I should take at least partial responsibility. I didn't start the conversation, I tried to end it but may have just added to the 'mystery'. Obviously sometimes we forget the responsiblity we have with the blog entries we post. I for one definitely gotto watch what I type and say. Things get misconstrued, people get offended, sh*t happens and everything gets out of control real fast. There's nothing wrong in being careful, just in case some dick in government decides to reign in an illegal homebrewer or two. Sure would hate to ever see that happen. What you brewers do is awesome. ALL of you. I think THAT is the pinnacle of craft beer, the very lifeblood and soul of it. What you guys do is wonderful and I cherish and appreciate any opportunity to try any of your stuff.

Plenty of people know who I am, including Nate - since he's part of the homebrewers forum - and anyone who has ever bothered to mail me and start a conversation.

Before you slag someone off publicly for not telling you who they are, as least have the decency to mail them and TRY to find out.

Since I'm the only person regularly writing about homebrewing in Japan on the net, there are good reasons not to have my name associated with the website. If you don't understand that - ask Nate what I mean.

Jean Claude, the Stone IPA is good. I'm finding the Rogues are just too sweet these days. The Imperial IPA was lovely.
Just missed meeting Homeknitting Japan last night. 8 pints of 7% Preston IPA was enough for me, seeing as I was working early this morning. Just taught my last class until sept. Feels good. just let myself get sucked into buying some guinness anniversary stout. It was awful at first, but then I realized I just spat out some mint gum that was mucking up the taste. About half way through it washed most of it away and wasn't that bad, pretty good even. I need another couple, though, because I kept expecting it to have that full guinness taste and it was tough to adjust. Fortunately I have 5 more all to myself!
