Great stuff.

One thing I agree with, though, is that women seem to be more interested in the creativity and artistry behind the beer, even if they don't like it. There was an event in Ushi tora featuring 5 female brewers from Harvestmoon, Minoh, Loco, IwateKura and ...come on..remember...hang on...nuts, can't seem to remember...perhaps it was 4? Anyway, loads of women.
There are also many beers brought out aimed at women. e.g. chocolate beers, herb ales, ciders, cabernet ales, etc.
Over here women represent well, even with their clothes on.
OH!!!!
Sunnaaayapp!!!
Oh no he di'n't!!!
Oh yes, he DIIIIID!!!!

Women are showing some great understanding and support for craft beer. They seem to have much more intellectual curiosity then their male counterparts (keeping the smutty theme, the word 'counterparts' is perhaps quite apt), who just follow the herd and drink whichever cheap shloss they and their brethren can find. Group mentality, team/tribal thinking or lack of? Guys, wake up to a new world over here. There is some great beer around.
Also, I see so many Japanese women but not so many foreign women at events or drinking alone in pubs (unless they are 'special bars' or they are waiting for someone with a red carnation on their lapel). There seems to be pressure against a woman drinking alone. I drink alone all the time.
Perhaps I shouldn't have said that. Well, it will come as no suprise. I enjoy relaxing with my beer, taking pics of the beer and bar and not the hot brunette at the end who is giving me her 'curse of the evil eye' stare again.
Just Jonny no friends and a pint.
It's a great thing about over here that you can make a friend in no time. Everyone is very friendly and approachable (barring that brunette at the end of the bar).
Where was I?
Hopefully some foreign women who luv craft beer (I know there are some - I've met you!) can start blogging about it and garner more interest.
More interest in craft beer is always a good thing, unless it's by the police or the tax office.
Perhaps your lovely other half can post a few entries from time to time?
Give us a perspective from the other side of the gender divide?

On a side note, I wonder if there is a gay craft beer in Japan?
There are beers made by men, beers made by women, how about some made by gay people?
I'm not in any way insinuating that gay people are neither men or women. Should sexuality make a difference? Should gender?
What if the brewer was a felon? Can you trust a criminal? How about religion?
Would you percieve the beer you just drank in a different way, if you knew more about who made it?
The taste wouldn't change, but would you?
Now my head hurts.
I meant the big one.
The one on top.
The one with the brain.
The one with eyes and ears and a nose!
- I suppose I should take that silly mask off. It's not Halloween yet.
